Welcome to Van Buren County!
We are a rural community that prides itself in rural living, quality hunting and outdoor recreational activities and our school district is the Pride of our County. We are always looking for ways to improve as a district as we know we must always have a “growth mindset.”
We have one goal at Van Buren County Community School District, be a great school for all kids. Please stop by and visit one of our educational centers and you will gain an understanding of the quality, professional and caring staff working with our students each and every day.
2026 - 2027 Registration Day:
IMPORTANT: Due to the implementation of our new Student Information System, every family is asked to attend registration in person this year. Your attendance is essential to ensure student information is accurate and the registration process is completed successfully.
To make registration as convenient as possible, we will be offering three registration days at three different locations. Families are welcome to attend whichever date and location works best for their schedule - you do not need to attend at your child's home attendance center.
Registration Schedule:
Monday, August 10 – Douds Center
11:00AM – 7:00PM
Tuesday, August 11 – Harmony Center
11:00AM – 7:00PM
Wednesday, August 12 – Middle School/High School
11:00AM – 7:00PM

Returning Student Registration
New to our District?
If you are unable to attend Registration Day or enrolling after the start of the school year, please contact Trisha Keim in the District Office to set up an appointment to complete registration. 319-293-3334 Ext. 1004
All new students will need the following:
- Proof of birth date
- Immunization Records*
- Health Insurance Policy Number
- Previous school attended name, address & dates attended
- Proof of Residency (e.g., copy of current utility bill, purchase/rental agreement)
*Documentation of a valid Certificate of Immunization Exemption (Religious or Medical) or Provisional Certificate of Immunization may be submitted in lieu of a Certificate of Immunization. Requirements for valid exemptions may be found in Iowa Code 139A.8 and Iowa Administrative Code 641-7.
