Van Buren County CSD Logo

Ms. Smithburg began working at Van Buren CSD in the fall of 2022. She is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education and previously worked as an ag teacher. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in professional school counseling through Buena Vista University.

Working with children has always been a passion of Mrs. Smithburg. She worked at various child care centers and the Youth Shelter Services in Boone, Iowa while attending Iowa State University.

When she isn’t in the classroom, she enjoys coaching softball and volleyball.
